Ishizaki Toshio (石崎寿夫), also known as Sushio is a Gainax animator famous for his work on Dead Leaves, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, The iDOLM@STER and Kill la Kill. At the time of this review Sushio-San is currently working at Studio Trigger.
"Kill la Kill (Japanese: キルラキルHepburn: Kiru Ra Kiru) is an anime television series produced by Trigger. It follows vagrant schoolgirl Ryuko Matoi, on her search for her father's killer; this brings her into a violent conflict with Satsuki Kiryuin--the iron-willed student council president of Honnouji Academy--and her mother's fashion empire."

Sushio-San usually releases art books ever year at the Comic Market. His books are usually thin and without a lot of pages. This 136-page softcover is packed with a lot of his rough sketches. A lot of his sketches in the book tell a silent story if you see them in a sequence. The few first drawings in the book tell a story of embarrassed Gamagōri going through a BL book followed by sketches of all the Kill la Kill characters performing their day-to-day routines. Sushio-San has inserted himself into the book in several sketches, sometimes interacting with the characters and vice versa, most of the time getting into strange and often hilarious situations. The drawings in this book can also be considered as a conclusion to the characters after the series ended.
The Final Verdict
Those who like the Kill la Kill anime or Susho style artwork are going to love this book. I would definitely recommend getting this book as well as the other books Sushio-San has published. If you like this book, I would also recommend the Kill la Kill anime.
The book was originally sold at Comic Market 89 but if like me, you could not afford to go to Japan, you can try to get the book on amazon or Ebay. The book is a limited print published by Sushio-San himself so order now before they sell out.
Kill La Kill is currently available on Crunchyroll and Netflix, If you have a subscription do take a look.
